María José holds a double major in History and Political Science with a minor in Law from the Universidad de Los Andes. She has a solid track record in the social and environmental sectors, gaining experience in organizations such as Compartamos con Colombia, Fundación ANDI, and the British Council. She is Colombian and resides in Bogotá. She is fluent in Spanish and English.

She belongs to various international networks that promote leadership and social impact, such as the Botín Network of Public Servants for Latin America, Active Citizens, and One Young World. These connections have allowed her to broaden her vision and collaborate with emerging leaders from various countries.

She is passionate about generating a positive impact on society, and her dedication and skills in project management, negotiation, and strategic relationship building have been fundamental in her career.
